Corry Evans returns to the Blackburn team that drew with Nottingham Forest
Corry Evans returned to Blackburn team that earned a draw at the City Ground. The match ended 1-1 with both teams finding it difficult to score the winning goal.
The Blackburn Rovers manager, Paul Lambert made several changes to the team of which was the return of Corry Evans. Connor Mahoney made his full debut for Blackburn Rovers, and Elliot, Ward, Lowe, and Akpan were the other players that were brought into the team.
The manager opted for a 4-1-4-1 formation in an attempt to strengthen his midfield. Blackburn started the game quite nervously and gave the ball away needlessly in the opening minutes. However, they improved quickly and began to control the game. They had their first occasion with Marshall, who shot wide of the target after drifting inside from the left.
Mahoney will have another chance later on, but he will fire his shot wide of the target after a cross from DarraghLenihan.
Rovers will be punished for their lack of accuracy in the 15th minute when Blackstock will benefit from a mistake by Mahoney. A pass from Mahoney will rebound off a Forest player into the path of Blackstock, and the latter will not give the Blackburn’s keeper any chance.
But Nottingham Forest will not lead for long because on the 22nd minute Blackburn Rovers will equalize thanks to a goal from Graham. He benefited from a sublime pass from Marshall to score his fourth goal for Rovers.
After the break, both teams were on the attack as they seek to find the winning goals but it was the goalkeepers that were on top.Lansbury twice had chances to get the winning goal for Nottingham Forest, but the goalkeeper will deny him.
There will be no significant goalscoringopportunities afterwards as both teams shared the points.
