Corry Evans says that he is keen on his team beating Liverpool
Blackburn Rovers defender Corry Evans says that he is keen on his team beating Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final replay. After a 0-0 draw at Anfield, both teams will be facing each other at Ewood Park knowing that it gives the Championship team significant advantage.
Blackburn have been putting a lot of the focus on this match knowing very well that they cannot realistically reach the play-off places with only a few games left in the campaign. Evans has been a regular first-team player for Blackburn this campaign. He has featured in more than 35 league matches and has one goal to his name.
Evans was expected to struggle at Blackburn when he originally moved from Hull City. However, he has become an integral part of the Blackburn team and can only progress even that he is just 24. Evans came through the ranks at Manchester United just like his brother Jonny Evans and it is not a surprise that he supports the Red Devils with his heart. Hence, beating Liverpool and knocking them out of the FA Cup will be a special feeling for Evans and it is something that he is working extremely hard towards. Blackburn had been better of the chances in the first leg and will be hoping for more of the same.
"Jonny hopes to be there to cheer us on, which would be great. He's a United fan like me and it would be great to beat Liverpool.I've been getting a lot of texts off my family and friends back home saying it would be great if we could put them out.In Northern Ireland, you're basically either a United or Liverpool fan. My family and most of my friends are United fans. I do have some friends who support Liverpool and it would be nice to put them out for that reason," said Evans.
