HULL BEAT LEICESTER
Corry Evans’ club, Hull City, has been defeated by Leicester City in a Championship match played on Sunday. Leicester won the match by a profound margin of 3-1. This was the fourth win in a row for Leicester. David Nugent was the hero of Leicester’s victory. The English striker scored a hat trick and took his team to a convincing victory. With this victory, Leicester has moved up to no. 7 in the points table. The position of Hull City in the points table didn’t get affected with that defeat and they are still at no. 4.
Nugent opened the scoring for Leicester in the 7th minute of the match with a powerful shot. The ball flew past the Hull City goalkeeper into the bottom corner of the goal post to give Leicester a lead of 1-0. But, Leicester didn’t manage to be ahead in the game for too long. Just after a few minutes, the leveller was scored by Jay Simpson.
Nugent again took Leicester ahead in the match just three minutes before the half time break. He capitalized on the cross of Anthony Knockaert and found the back of the net with a brilliant header. In the second half, the Hull City players should have attacked a bit more, but, surprisingly, they played with a defensive approach and let Leicester run away with the game.
The final nail was put in the coffin by Nugent in the last minute of the match when he found the net for the third time in the match by taking advantage of a wonderful pass from Lloyd Dyer. The manager of Hull City, Steve Bruce, was gutted with the end result. As per Bruce, the team deserved to lose the match. It was a horrible performance by the boys. The body language of the players was not good at all. You need to fight till the very last minute. You can’t afford to sit back and let the other team come hard at you. It was overall a pretty dismal performance.
