Leicester City have been the team to beat in the championship this season. Blackburn are looking to take on the challenge of overcoming Nigel Pearson’s men this weekend. Midfielder Corry Evans, who joined the club on a permanent basis in the January transfer window, says that he does not see reason why Blackburn could defeat the table leaders. The 23-year-old has worked with Pearson when he was at Hull city. Hence, he knows the manager extremely well and this is something that Blackburn can take advantage of for the weekend.

Pearson made some sensible buys during the January transfer window and they have contributed immensely for Leicester in the second half of the season. Since the 2-1 defeat against Stoke city in the FA Cup back in the first week of March, they have not been defeated in any competition. In fact, one has to go back into 2013 to witness Leicester City last being defeated in the league. As a result, they have almost sealed promotion back to the Premier league. Despite setting 31 points behind Leicester, Corry Evans feels that Blackburn have enough quality to overcome the table leaders.
Blackburn were expected to fight for at least a play-off place, but they have been disappointing. They are 10th in the table going into this match.

“We’ve just got to go for every game now. We can’t go into games worrying too much about how we’ve got to go about them – we’ve just got to win. Leicester have been absolutely flying all season. I know Nigel Pearson from my time at Hull, he’s a really good manager who I enjoyed working under, and he’s put a really good side together so we know it’s going to be a tough game. But we’ve got to make it tough for them and hopefully take the three points,” said the 23-year-old.
