EVANS BENCHED FOR ROTHERHAM GAME

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Corry Evans sat on the bench for the whole game as his team played out a 1-1 draw with relegation threatened side Rotherham United in the English Championship.

Evans was left on the bench by Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray for the start of the game and that was how it remained until the end of the match which ended in a score draw.

Northern Ireland international Evans made a return from his latest injury in the middle of last month and he has played three times in the league since then. He made his return to the Blackburn Rovers squad for the home game with Derby County. He made a substitute appearance during the game which ended in a 2-1 win for his team.

His first start since coming back from injury came in the next league match after the Derby County clash. He was named in the starting XI for the away defeat at the hands of relegation threatened Sheffield Wednesday. Josh Windass scored the winning goal to give Sheffield Wednesday a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers. His goal came eight minutes before the break.

Corry Evans was also in the starting line-up as Blackburn Rovers edged Huddersfield Town in a seven-goal thriller . The Northern Ireland midfielder was on for the entire duration of the English Championship match at home to the Terriers.

Blackburn Rovers sealed a 5-2 win at the expense of Huddersfield Town. Adam Armstong was the star of the show after he netted three goals during the game with the two goals coming in the second half.Adam Armstrong then scored the lone goal for Blackburn Rovers in a 1-1 draw at Rotherham United . He scored the first goal of the game on 17 minutes before Lewis Wing equalised for the hosts with four minutes left on the clock.

Adam Armstrong has 25 goals in the league this season. Only the duo of Norwich City striker TeemuPukki (26 goals) and Ivan Toney of Brentford (30 goals) have more.
