BLACKBURN PLAYERS REACT TO TEAM MATE'S CHILE CALL-UP

Several players of English club Blackburn Rovers have expressed their reactions after finding out that their teammate was called up to the Chile national team for international duty. Blackburn star Ben Brereton was handed a surprise call-up to link up with his national team Chile and because his fellow teammates at club level were not expecting it also, they have all enacted to the news. It was the first time the 22-year-old would be called up to the Chile national team and he could not hide his delight that he would have to be playing alongside Alexis Sanchez and others.

The reason for the reactions of surprise and shock about his call-up is that they were wondering how he was eligible to play for Chile. However, Brereton's mother is of Chilean nationality and that alone is enough for him to be eligible to play for the South American country. The Rovers star has indeed earned the invitation after the blistering season he had with his club.

In the 40 games he played for the Championship club, the player was able to score 7 goals for the club and he has finally been given the chance to prove himself on the international stage and will be playing for Chile for the first time.

There have been a lot of reactions from not just his teammates, but a lot of the club's fans as well. After posting on his official Instagram page to confirm the news, some of his teammates and fans stormed the comments section and expressed their bemusement and surprise.

Bradley Sack, Corry Evans, and Bradley Johnson joined a lot of fans in the comment section and while all of them expressed how happy they were for him, a lot of them were there to make some jokes out of the moment and indicated that they were not expecting it.
