The manager of Blackburn Rovers, Gary Bowyer, has lauded Jordan Rhodes for scoring a match winning goal in the match against Watford which was played on Tuesday.

Blackburn won that game by 1-0 and moved up to no. 8 in the Championship points table. They currently have 15 points in 10 games.

Rhodes has been in great form this season. He is currently the joint leading goal scorer in the ongoing Championship. He has found the back of the net 9 times in his 9 appearances for Blackburn this season. The Huddersfield Town striker James Vaughan has also scored the same no. of goals.

In the press conference after the game against Watford, when Bowyer was asked about Rhodes, he said, “I can keep talking about this guy. He is just an awesome player.”

“He knows pretty well how to finish and he must be praised for the way he does it.”

“There is a lot of firepower in our squad with Josh, Jordan and Leon there. DJ Campbell will come back soon too. So, if we perform well defensively and don’t concede too many goals, we can secure victories consistently.”

The game against Watford was Blackburn’s second successive game in which they kept a clean sheet and the two guys who should be given credit for that are Grant Hanley and Scott Dann. These two have been in the starting line up of Blackburn in each and every Championship match that they have played this season.

When asked about the performance of Hanley and Dann, Bowyer said, “Both of them have been superb so far. They have set the platform in every game.”

Blackburn’s next Championship match is against Wigan Athletic. That game will be played at the DW Stadium on Sunday.
